Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has for over two thousand years diagnosed, treated and prevented illnesses. Qi is the vital energy that all organs contain in a state of balance. When there is a imbalance in one's Qi, illness arises. The Qi of all our organs are connected through meridians that run all over our body. Chinese herbs and acupuncture are used to restore the state of balance in one's Qi and ultimately restoring health. Acupuncture is when fine needles are inserted into specific points along the meridians to restore this flow of Qi.
Botanical (Herbal) Medicine
Medicinal plants have been widely utilized for over 5,000 years ranging from ancient civilizations to the Egyptians to the Greeks, the Chinese, the Indian and First Nation cultures. Botanical Medicine can come in many different forms ranging from teas to tinctures to capsules. Doctors of Naturopathic Medicine receive extensive training in the science of botanical medicine. Herbal medicine is highly effective and safe when used in the appropriate manner.
