Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft tissues. This includes muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments, and joints. Massage therapy aims to enhance one's health and well-being by addressing discomfort from muscle overuse, daily stressors, or chronic pain. Each treatment is individualized based upon your health goals, intake, health history, posture assessment, and treatment preferences and comfort.

Relaxation / Swedish Massage Therapy

A general treatment that uses a variety of techniques to stimulate relaxation and aid the body in reaching a healthy balance, naturally.

Therapeutic Massage Therapy

A specific individualized treatment that focuses on providing relief from chronic muscle tension and stiffness that can be caused by many different factors, including injury, poor posture, or stress.

Myofascial Release

A specific technique to treat the layer of connective tissue between your skin and muscles. This technique can be done with cups or hands, depending on the severity of the tightness.

Trigger Point Therapy

A specific technique that applies finger pressure along irritated points, called trigger points, in the body. This pressure overloads the nerves in the area, thus "resetting" them. This technique is invaluable for unwinding tension and managing pain.

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial Cupping is a soft tissue therapy that encourages healing by creating a negative pressure on the skin using silicone or glass cups. When the cup is placed on the skin, the soft tissue is drawn up into the cup, resulting in a highly effective separation of the tissues underneath. This allows nutrient-rich blood to flow into and metabolic wastes to flow out of the tissues.

Areas of musculoskeletal tension or congestion are first located using massage techniques. Silicone cups are, then, placed on the affected area and/or moved over the surface in a gliding motion to lift, separate, and stretch the underlying tissues. Cupping can be added to any massage session.

Myofascial Cupping can be used to treat fascial adhesions, trigger points, muscle tension, scar tissue, athletic injuries, and even sinus congestion.

Benefits of myofascial cupping treatment include:

  • Longer-lasting effects of your treatment

  • Increase in range of motion

  • Increased relaxation component to the treatment

  • Activates the release of synovial fluid in joint areas, resulting in decreased joint discomfort (great for conditions such as arthritis)

  • More effective lymph drainage than massage alone.
