Colby Fox B Kin, CAT (C), D.O.M.P.
Registered Manual Osteopath
Colby completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary in 2014 with an Advanced Diploma in Athletic Therapy. She has worked with a variety of sports mainly focusing on hockey and rugby. Through this avenue she discovered Osteopathy and loves the approach of seeing and treating the body as a whole with all systems in mind. In 2021 she completed a 5-year program Manual Osteopathy Program from the Vancouver campus of the Canadian College of Osteopathy.
Colby’s assessments involve looking at the whole body through the musculoskeletal, visceral, and craniosacral systems to determine where the areas of restriction are in order to be able to relieve pain and increase quality of life. Treatments involve myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation among others to help restore your body to its optimal functioning capacity. Osteopathic treatments are often lighter touch than other professions so many people report they do not “feel” much of the treatment, just the positive affects after. The goal of treatment is to release tension and areas of restriction so the body is able to function optimally. Within Osteopathy there is the idea that the body is self-regulating and treatment helps to remove barriers that are preventing health from being able to express itself. |
